PITLOCHRY

We stayed with Naiomi's grandparents, Derek and Pam, in Pitlochry.
Pitlochry is situated at the southern edge of the Highlands.

The Edradour Distillery in Pitlochry

The Scottish like getting $#@!housed almost as much as the Irish, to the point that Edradour here stopped making blended whiskies and went hardcore, doing only single malt. Mark and Naiomi brought my bottle back so that I wouldn't have to check my luggage; when they mail it to me I'll down half of it in one sitting and let you know how it goes.

Edit, more than two years after I designed this page, only to let it sit on a couple of different hard drives: This is some strong stuff. The standard light, approved-even-by-purists watering down didn't help it. Don't tell Derek (please), but I found it went best in Arizona-brand Southern style sweet tea. I'm going to hell.

(Gandhi, gasping) Only God decides who goes to hell.

(Me, in a faux-Indian accent) I diluted single malt Scotch in mass-market American sweet tea.

(Gandhi, gasping) Yes, you're going to hell.

This stream at Edradour will turn the gears of the medieval torture devices they'll use on me, for the above-described sacrilege.
